Textile Leveling Agent – Excellent Levelling Agent for wool, polyamide and blends of wool with polyamide or polyester fibers in all processing forms.

Chemical Nature : Mixture of emulsifiers : Amphoteric.

Features

  • Pale yellow to light brown, slightly viscous hazy liquid ; pourable.
  • Miscible with water in all proportions.
  • Stable to hard water, acids, alkalis and metal salts / electrolytes.
  • Stable to high shear.
  • APEO free.
  • Low odour.

Benefits

  • Maximizes penetration and migration of dye molecules.
  • Improves level dyeing and depth of shade with acid, reactive and metal complex dyes on polyamide fibers and their blends.
  • Suitable for dyeing very fine types of wool that tend to felt.
  • Suitable for dyeing chlorinated, bleached wool for pastel shades.
  • Has affinity for both the dye and fiber ; acts as a cushion between dye molecules and dye sites.
  • Exhibits good rubbing and perspiration fastness.
  • Reduces Skittery ( root-tip ) dyeing of wool.
  • Exhibits both retarding and dispersing actions for wool dyed with 1:2 metal complex dyes.
  • Has a moderate wetting and detergent action.
  • Stock solutions of Leomine Level PAE has a long shelf life.

Ecology

According to our experience Leomine Level PAE does not exert any harmful effects on health provided they are used as per our recommendation. Does not contain APEO / NPEO.

Storage

Leomine Level PAE has a shelf life of at least one year if stored in its tightly sealed original packing at temperatures between 5ºC and 35 ºC in a dry place. Drums should be tightly resealed each time the material is taken from them, and their contents should be used up as soon as possible after they have been opened.

Application

This Textile leveling agent is dissolved pouring hot water over the product under stirring. The dissolved product is added to the dye batch before addition of dye solution.

Application for Polyamide fibres

Dyeing with 1:2 metal complex dyes

Loose stock or slubs:

  • 5% Ammonium Sulphate
  • 0.5 – 1% Leomine Level PAE
  • X% Dye
  • pH 5 using Acetic acid / Leomine Buffer PAB

Yarn or piece-goods

  • 5% Ammonium Sulphate
  • 0.5 – 1% Leomine Level PAE
  • X% Dye
  • Maintain pH 6-7

Dyeing with 1:1 metal complex dyes

Wool:

  • 6% Sulphuric acid 96%
  • 1% Leomine Level PAE
  • X% Dye
  • pH 5 using Acetic acid / Leomine Buffer PAB

Polyamide fibers

  • 2% Formic acid 85%
  • 1% Leomine Level PAE
  • X% Dye
  • Maintain pH 6-7

Dyeing very fine types of wool

  • 2-3% this textile leveling agent
  • Start dyeing at low temperature between 20 ºC to 30 ºC. Higher amounts of Leomine Level PAE may exhibit strong retarding action
